Water Security Management
ECOPSIS specialises in providing consultancy services to improve the delivery of sustainable water supply and management of water resources. This includes conducting evaluations of water supply projects, feasibility studies for water systems’ expansion, and technical assistance to service providers. We can mobilise legal, financial and technical expertise to advise on water systems' development. Our team identifies sustainable water sources and advises on long-term supply solutions, taking into account other usage and climate risks. Working closely with our project funders, we carry out thorough evaluations of results, from quality of construction to services' sustainability.
Projects
Feasibility Study on Public Private Partnerships for Safe Water Supply in Selected Small Towns
Ghana | Hilton Foundation
Examined the existing institutional and financial arrangements, including legal provisions, to assess whether they provide an enabling framework for private sector participation in the financing and delivery of water services under a PPP arrangement. Determined the extent of investments required to meet the demand for water supply services in rural areas. Made recommendations for a PPP arrangement that covered capital and operational costs, in order to attract private investors whilst retaining affordability and services’ inclusiveness; and proposed a Roadmap to enable PPP for rural water and small towns.

Monitoring and Verification of Water4Life+ Water supply and Solar Electrification components
Ethiopia | Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF)
Conducted the ongoing monitoring and verification of the results of the Water4Life+. Project, which is implemented by the Government of Ethiopia in collaboration with the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). This project looked at community-level water and energy supplies, with a focus on schools and health centres. It aimed to build the capacity of local government and communities to maintain these systems. ECOPSIS, with Oxfam Consults, conducted regular supervision field visits to inspect construction and evaluate the quality of installations.
Mid-Term Review of WaterWorx (WWX) Phase 2
Indonesia & Laos | WaterWorx (WWX)
Performed an evaluation of the progress and impact of the Water Operator Partnership (WOP) between Dutch Water utilities and utilities in 15 countries in Asia and Africa. The WOP programme aimed to improve utilities’ technical and managerial capacities, active engagement at the enabling environment level and with third party financiers, as well as create the capacities and conditions to expand investments and manage services sustainably. Using the OECD/DAC evaluation, ECOPSIS gave key recommendations on improvements to the partnership between local and Dutch utilities, the programme design and implementation and provided remedial actions to maximise the long-term impact of the project results.
